LOVELAND, Colo. -- Some neighbors in Loveland say it’s been an ongoing issue for years.
After a home was demolished after high levels of meth were found on the property, neighbors have reported people living on the land and harassing the public.
Code enforcement says they’ve filed five lawsuits against the property owner over the last several years. The latest one centered around the amount of people living on the property.
Kimber Krautzer, who lives near the property, says she doesn’t feel safe in the neighborhood she moved into about a decade ago.
“We never had to be afraid in our neighborhood before. We would frequently not worry about locking up during the day, but there is no time we walk out our door and not lock it, ever.”
Property owner, Craig Muhlenbruck, says they pose no threat to the neighborhood and says he doesn’t believe he’s doing anything wrong by having people camp on his land.
“I paid for the property, it's mine," Muhlenbruck said.
Code enforcement says Muhlenbruck has been in and out of jail and owes the county about $160,000.
They say they’ll have to wait and see what the court decides before moving anyone out.
