ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Overnight, Contact7 received multiple emails and calls into the newsroom with more complaints about living conditions at the Golden Nugget Apartment complex. On Monday night, Denver7 showed you reports of bed bugs, cockroaches, mice and unsanitary living conditions in the units.
Contact7 went to SKM Management’s office on Tuesday to get answers on what work is being done to fix these mounting problems. After placing a call, going to the office door and security asking our team to leave the building, the company chose to provide no comment.
Contact7 reached out to the State Housing Division and the Englewood Housing Authority. Both provide vouchers to people living at the Golden Nugget Apartments. After our call, the State Housing Division sent a representative over to check on the residents receiving assistance. The agency also said an exterminator crew was sent to the property.
Englewood Housing Authority confirmed to Contact7 that in the last few months residents have requested to move out of Golden Nugget units and the agency has since put them into other housing.
