COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — What a difference a couple of weeks can make for William Wadzinski and his family.
Two weeks ago, Wadzinski, his wife Anna Nelson, and their three daughters were living in their truck.
An eviction from a couple of years had made it hard for them to rent, and for a while, they were living in a hotel. But after their story aired on Denver7, a viewer reached out to help the family.
“I’m so grateful that we’ve got a house,” Wadzinski said. “I never thought it would be possible. It’s just it’s amazing.”
“We had to fill out an application,” Nelson said. “[The viewer] said he wasn’t worried about our credit. So, we filled out the application, and here we are!”
Now, they’re living in a home in Commerce City. They’ve been renting there for a week — something they didn’t see as an option two weeks ago.
Thanks to Denver7 viewers, they got even more help in the form of gift cards to King Soopers and Wal-Mart.
It’s help from complete strangers just in time for the holiday season.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to call anyplace home, so just the fact that I can call this home is just beyond words,” Wadzinski said.
