Behind the doors of Shannon Davis' home in Golden are empty promises.

For years, Davis says she's worked hard to remodel her home, but the railings, which were supposed to be a centerpiece, were never finished.

"We signed a contract in January and my birthday was the 22nd," Davis said. "We thought we’d have it done by then, worst case scenario Feb. 2."

But Davis said the contractor, Ron Reed, had several instances of not showing up to work on the project.

"There was just no response, no calls, nothing," Davis said.

After facing several health issues, Davis said it made it harder for her to move around her home and get up and down the stairs.

We reached out to Reed and he did not answer but his attorney provided a statement on his behalf saying the job will be completed.

Mr Reed, through his company Reed Stair and Hand Rails, strives for client satisfaction and regrets any inconvenience caused in connection with this job. While Mr. Reed does not agree with the all of the factual complaints put forward by the client in this instance, he stands ready to complete this custom job to his rigorous standards, and wants the client to be happy with the end result. Having spoken to the client today, who is excited to have Mr. Reed finish this job, the parties are prepared to put their differences behind them and to finish the work as agreed. Mr. Reed would be happy to provide photos and and an update when the project is complete on October 5th 2019.

Davis says she is looking forward to seeing Reed again the job being completed.
