We know our healthcare system can be confusing and costly, so we want to help you better understand it by providing clarity and more transparency to a complex issue. Healthcare is the No. 1 concern for most Americans. In fact, the affordability of healthcare is the top issue facing the country, according to a Pew Research study in September 2019.
And yet, our healthcare system remains too confusing for many people to navigate. Insurance is too expensive. Deductibles are too high. And when patients receive bills that aren't covered by insurance, the result can be crushing.
We want to shine a light on the problem facing so many and work towards finding solutions.
This year, we partnered with RIP Medical Debt, a group that purchases medical debt for pennies on the dollar, to get rid of it and lessen the burden for those in debt. We've done the same thing, contributing $15,000 to erase $2 million worth of debt for families in Colorado. We want to tell stories of families struggling with debt, and families who have escaped.
