AURORA, Colo. — Tumbleweeds are overrunning an Aurora neighborhood.
Strong winds on Wednesday blew the tumbleweeds from the Plains Conservation Center into the Conservatory neighborhood. Neighbors say it happened fast.
"It was horrible," resident Norma Trujillo said. "We looked out our backyard, and our whole backyard was covered in tumbleweed."
Trujillo said the tumbleweeds were stacked as high as 10-feet.
Public works did clear some of the debris, but say that they wouldn't clean anything in the yards.
Neighbors spent their weekend cleaning up. Piles of trash bags now lie at the end of many driveways.
The City of Aurora provided a dumpster on Saturday morning, but neighbors say the dumpster is full.
The city said they don't remove tumbleweeds in the conservation center to preserve the natural plain.
