JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — Hundreds of people attended a vigil at the Columbine Memorial to mark the 20th anniversary of the shooting that took the lives of 12 students and a teacher.

The emotional evening was an opportunity for the public to reflect and remember the tragedy.

Many brought flowers and carried tea lights as they walked around the memorial.

Bailey Rosiere was in 2nd grade when the shooting happened and says it still has an emotional impact on her today. She described what it was like walking through the memorial.

“It makes it not just an empty or upsetting or sad feeling; it’s more of a deep impact," she said. "Because you can’t ever forget no matter how young you were."

Several more events are planned in Littleton Saturday including a community remembrance ceremony.
