Investigators learned that the two students and two other juveniles connected with an alleged drug dealer through a phone app the night before. The juveniles then met the alleged dealer in the parking lot of a King Soopers on Cheyenne Meadows Road.

CSPD said detectives pretended to be one of the juveniles and set up another meeting with the alleged dealer, identified as 21-year-old Damien Solano.

Solano was arrested Tuesday for several charges, including:

  • Unlawful distribution, manufacturing, dispensing or sale (of) — 4 counts
  • Unlawful distribution, manufacturing, dispensing or sale (attempt of) — 1 count
  • Contributing to the delinquency of a minor — 4 counts

Solano was carrying two ounces of psilocybin mushrooms at the time of his arrest, according to Colorado Springs police.
The juveniles are between the ages of 12 and 16, according to police. CSPD said detectives worked with the juveniles' parents to seize the remaining psilocybin mushrooms.
