COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Footage shared with News5 in Colorado Springs shows the moments two passengers jumped into action after a Mountain Metropolitan Transit (MMT) bus driver suffered a medical emergency.
The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 14 along Route 1, Hillside to Hancock Plaza.
According to MMT, the driver experienced a medical emergency while operating the bus and fell out of his seat. Video captured inside the bus shows two men aboard the bus becoming concerned.
One of the men hopped out of his seat and approached the driver, asking, "You alright?" The other man sprinted from the back of the bus up to the driver's seat and said, "You gotta get on the brake."
The second man safely stopped the bus near Academy Boulevard and Astrozon Boulevard and informed the MMT dispatch that the driver was having a seizure.

Elaine Sheridan with MMT praised the two men for their quick-thinking.
"One that was totally paying attention to the driver's situation and then the other one that just jumped into action and pulled this bus over," said Sheridan. "It's a miracle."
First responders arrived quickly at the scene and tended to the driver, but he sadly passed away. The El Paso County Coroner's Office identified him as TJ Turner, 32.
MMT took to social media, asking the community to keep its drivers in their thoughts at this time. Sheridan said MMT is also searching for the two passengers who jumped into action so they can thank them.
