COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Three pets rescued from an apartment fire last week are still recovering.

Firefighters rescued the two cats and a dog, then resuscitated them, during an apartment fire last Wednesday in Colorado Springs.

Blue, the dog, got out of the veterinarian's hospital on Saturday, owner Peter Pandora told Denver7.

"Blue is right here by my side," Pandora said. "She is still on meds and has a hacking cough, but that'll go away in a couple weeks."

However, Benson and Milo, the cats, are still at a veterinary specialty center.

Pandora hopes Milo will get released on Monday, if Pandora and his wife find a new place to live.

Benson needs a few more days of treatment.

"He got an ember in his throat and it burned a hole there," Pandora said. "But he's showing signs signs of life --  rubbing his head on us again."

"I'm just so thankful that our pets are still alive," Pandora said. "We were told 60 percent of animals don’t make it. To have all three make it -- I am truly blessed and thankful."

A friend started a GoFundMe to help pay for the animal's expenses and other recovery costs after the fire. Pandora and his wife are also expecting a baby.

"She's been really stressed out about finding a new place," Pandora said.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
