COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A crying baby stopped a carjacking in Colorado Springs.
A mother told police she was getting out of her car at the Antero Apartments, near Fountain and Murray boulevards, at 9:04 p.m. Tuesday when a man armed with a gun, walked up and demanded the mother's keys.
The mother told police that her infant child was still in the car and suddenly started crying.
The mother said the crying apparently made the suspect angry and he left in a nearby Honda Civic, police said.
The armed gunman was described as a black man, possibly in his early 20’s, who was wearing a dark-colored hoodie, “skinny” pants and a dark-colored face covering, police said.
The mother said there were two other people in the suspect's car.
The mother and child were not hurt.
