A man and a woman suffered non-life threatening injuries in a drive-by shooting at the Citadel mall in Colorado Springs Saturday evening, a Lieutenant with the Colorado Springs Police Department confirmed with Denver7.

A person was detained, but police are still looking for a suspect in a white, newer model 4-door Sedan with darkly, tinted windows.

The drive-by shooting took place at around 7 p.m. near the mall entrance doors next to a Hooters restaurant, according to CSPD Lt. Catherine Buckley.

Preliminary investigation revealed there was a disturbance between two groups of individuals, followed by the drive-by shooting outside the restaurant.

The mall immediately went into a "shelter in place" status. Moments later, a section of the parking lot was blocked off as officers gathered evidence and started the investigation into the shooting, according to a KRDO reporter at the scene.

Police, with the help from deputies of the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, cleared the mall and escorted shoppers to a safe area.

While officers were on scene investigating the original call for service, a call was received about a potential third victim. Officers went to a home and talked to a man who had received a graze injury. The victim did not require medical treatment.

This is an active investigation. Suspects have not been identified at this time. If anyone has information on potential suspects or is a witness to the incident you can contact the department at (719) 444-7000 or if you wish to remain    anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at (719) 634-STOP (7867).
