COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A $10,000 reward is being offered to find the people who broke into a gun store and stole 17 guns in Colorado Springs.

The burglars used a Ford Fusion to break into Colorado Springs Guns and Ammo at 2:20 a.m. on September 23, according to police.

The burglars took handguns, rifles and shotguns, investigators said.

“Any theft from a gun store is extremely concerning because we know these firearms are later used in violent crimes,” said Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Special Agent in Charge Ken Croke.

Anyone with information is asked to call the ATF’s Tip Line at 1-800-ATF-GUNS (283-4867), Colorado Springs PD at 719-444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at (719) 634-STOP (7867) or 1-800-222-8477.

Authorities said Colorado ranked 22 out of 50 states in the number of firearms stolen from gun dealers in 2015.
