GREELEY, Colo. — The Weld County Coroner filed a petition Monday in Weld County District Court requesting that the court prohibit the disclosure of the autopsy reports in the Chris Watts case.
Monday’s filing came after a Friday ruling from Judge Marcelo Kopcowthat denied prosecutors' request to block the release of the autopsy reports of Shannan, Belle and Celeste Watts— ruling that only the county coroner can ask to seal autopsy reports.

Prosecutors have charged 33-year-old Christopher Watts with killing his pregnant wife, Shanann, and their children, Bella and Celeste.
The victims’ bodies were found at oil work site in Weld County. The Weld County district attorney's office argued that the cause of their deaths will be critical evidence during Watts' trial.
A hearing date on the Weld County Coroner’s request has not yet been set.
