Farms are producing fewer crops and wildfire smoke obscures our mountain views, keeping many people inside. People vulnerable to polluted air find themselves in the hospital or a clinic.

And while climate targets are easy to set, they are hard to achieve. But scientists reject the idea that it’s too late to make real change.
