Mozzarella isn't your typical Denver7 team member, but he brings a whole lot of heart to the newsroom. Mozzarella joined the world and EW Scripps in September 2019.
Mozzarella began his training as a service dog right away with Medical Mutts in Indianapolis. He spent his first two years learning the skills to help his human manage PTSD. Mozzarella is a certified service dog and provides deep pressure therapy, interrupts panic attacks, and retrieves medication, among other important tasks.
In 2022, he made the move to Denver7 with his human. When he isn’t sniffing out news stories, Mozzarella provides emotional support and stress relief to the team – a vital role in any fast-paced newsroom.
When off-duty, Mozzarella enjoys hiking, cuddling, and any aquatic adventure – rain, snow, ponds, you name it! A true golden retriever, he's always eager to carry anything, especially tasty takeout.
