TSA hiring dozens of security screeners ahead of holiday rush

DIA expecting busiest holiday season ever
Posted

DENVER -- If you're looking for a seasonal job over the holidays, the TSA is now hiring.

The Transportation Security Administration says it needs about 80 new security screeners out at Denver International Airport ahead of the busy holiday travel season. It’s also looking to hire additional employees with the expansion at DIA.

Starting pay for TSA screeners is about $18.70/hour with opportunities for promotions after just a few months. Unlike jobs in the private sector where benefits sometimes don’t kick-in until months after your hire date, in the TSA benefits start as soon as you’re sworn in. No previous law enforcement experience is required.

The TSA is recruiting both part-time and full-time officers.

DIA is bracing for what experts are projecting will be the busiest holiday travel season ever.
