DENVER-- Ally, the online banking company, wants Americans to value "every cent" so it's leaving special pennies in 10 cities, including Denver.
If you find one of the Ally Lucky Pennies you could get $1,000.
Ally officials said the Ally Lucky Pennies are slightly larger than a regular penny, with the Ally logo on the front and the number 100,000 on the back, signifying how many cents the Ally Lucky Penny could be worth.
There are ten pennies in each of the ten cities picked for this promotion -- Austin, Texas, Charlotte, N.C., Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, San Diego and Washington, D.C.
If you find the penny before December 31, you can redeem it on Ally's penny website: AllyLuckyPenny.com.
Ally said it has created a website with hints.
A hint for one of the pennies left in Denver says, "There's a natural remedy for bad breath. This Denver place isn't it." The hint includes a picture of a peppermint candy.
