DENVER — A Midwest convenience store chain known for its fresh food offerings and loyal following is planning on opening locations in the Denver metro area.
Citing social media requests from customers to expand, QuikTrip announced Tuesday in a video posted on its Facebook page that it plans on opening stores in the Mile High City.
Mike Thornbrugh, a spokesperson for the company, told Denver7 that it’s too early in the planning process to announce dates or the number of initial locations, but confirmed that the Tulsa-based chain is indeed eying Denver for expansion.
Thornbrugh told the trade publication CSP that the company has been looking at the Denver market for some time. He said the city's recent population growth is what prompted the company to move ahead with expansion plans.
QuikTrip is an $11 billion company with more than 800 locations in 11 states. The private company’s planned expansion into Denver will mark the chain’s first presence in Colorado.
