DENVER -- Halloween is known for trick-or-treating and scary movies, but what if you're looking to celebrate this weekend like a grown-up? Denver7 has dug up the details on three of the biggest parties in the Mile High City.
1. Coloween
Where: Curtis Hotel, 1405 Curtis Street
When: 9 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday
Open Bar
Multiple floors of a themed Halloween party include artists, inflatables, and theatrical designs. A band, singer-songwriter, and six DJs will entertain guests all night. New this year is "Mad Max's Apocalyptic Wasteland" based on the hit movie from 2015. Keep in mind this event does not allow any replica weapons, but there is a $1,500 first place costume contest.

2. Paranormal Palace
Where: McNichols Civic Center Building, 144 W Colfax Ave.
When: 8 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday
Open Bar
You probably drive by the McNichols Building on West Colfax all the time, but during one night each year it is transformed into a fully immersive theatrical costume party. Also with multiple floors (along with a new 90s floor this year), guests will have a variety to choose from. The main theme this year is "A Rocky Horror Experience" with decor and plenty of costumed cast members. No real looking weapons allowed. There is a $2,000 price for the costume contest winner.

3. The Denver Halloween Costume Ball
Where: Downtown Sheraton, 1550 Court Place
When: 9 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday
Cash Bar
The Denver Sheraton plays host once again to the party titled exactly what it is, a costume ball for whatever crazy costume you can come up with. Go-go dancers and a laser show compliment the DJs that will be spinning a mix of hits throughout the night. This event doesn't feature an open bar, but tickets are slightly less expensive. There is a $1,000 cash prize for the winner of this year's costume contest.
