DENVER --  The 13th Floor on Brighton Blvd. in Denver, promises a "gut-wrenching ride to untold nightmares" for those who dare to enter.

TheNow hosts Theresa Marchetta, Adam Hammond and Senior Producer Dan Hosea learned first-hand, it delivers scares, screams and more.

"The whole set's new.  We have a lot of new sets for 'Cursed,'" said General Manager Tye Olmstead.

Cursed, The Ritual is the theme of the 13th Floor this year.

That theme helped the terrifying attraction earn a second-place ranking by HauntedHouse.com out of the top-10 scariest haunted houses across the country.

"Pretty much every day, walking through, somebody manages to scare me," said Olmstead.

One of the new sets constructed this year is the Voodoo Room.  It is authentically decorated in authentic detail with moss, vines, candles, creepy trinkets and life-like mannequins that appear to be in a trance.

"We spend countless hours.  When people aren't thinking about Halloween, we're thinking about what we're going to do for the upcoming season," said Olmstead.

He told TheNOW team that a full-time staff works year-round building sets, designing costumes and creating one-of-a kind masks that will terrify you.

"Our characters, you're not going to see anywhere else.  They are unique to the 13th Floor," said Olmstead.

"My biggest fear is someone touching me.  Is anyone going to touch me?" said TheNOW anchor Theresa Marchetta.

"If you come during the regular season you won't be touched by the actors," said Olmstead, "You won't be touched unless you buy tickets to a special event.  We have a black out event.  You sign a waiver and the actors can touch you for that weekend only," said Olmstead.

Yes, he said you have to sign a waiver.

"What's the craziest thing you've seen?" asked TheNOW anchor Adam Hammond.

"The craziest thing for me is watching these big guys hiding behind their girlfriend.  That's always the craziest thing to me," said Olmstead.

He said parents should use PG-13 as a guideline if they are thinking about bringing children.  It is scary, he said, but not obscene.

The 13th Floor is off I-70 and Brighton Boulevard.

Tickets start at $20 and are available online or in person through Nov. 12.
