DENVER – Nothing says “summer!” quite like the seasonal opening of a theme park, and if you live in Denver you know summer is just around the corner when Elitch Gardens opens for the season.
For its 128th consecutive year, Elitch Gardens promises new and exciting things: more shade in the water park, an exciting new show production in the Trocadero Theater called Smoke and Mirrors, a new state-of-the-art light package for their iconic Big Wheel and the park’s “biggest and best concert line-up ever.”
There will be a total of eight free concerts at Elitch Gardens this year, according to Jolie DuBois, communications manager for Elitch Gardens. Performances will include country music star Chris Lane, American pop boy band Why Don’t We, Mexican ranchera music band Banda El Recodo, Christian crossover sensation Switchfoot, among others.
Park officials say more than 100,000 souvenir cups and 20,000+ stuff animals have been ordered for visiting guests.
And while there are no new rides this year, officials say they do have a new towering milkshake made up of whipped cream, a donut, a muffin, a donut hole, and sprinkles. You’ll be able to find them on Main Street.
Elitch Gardens’ water park, Island Kingdom, opens May 26.
Season passes are just $69.99 and one-day pass is $59.99, but if you buy it online, the price drops to $39.99
