Denver rents drop slightly for third straight month; up nearly 2 percent year-over-year

DENVER – The cost of renting in Denver once again dropped slightly in November, according to the latest numbers from ApartmentList.

The decrease represents the third straight month of declining rents in the metro area.

According to ApartmentList, the median rent in Denver dropped 0.8 percent in November to a median of $1,040 for a one-bedroom apartment and $1,320 for a two-bedroom unit. 

Despite the decrease, rents are still up overall. Compared to the same time last year, rents have increased by 1.7 percent.

Lone Tree, which has the highest rents in the metro area, also saw the biggest decreases. Broomfield, on the other hand, has seen the fastest growth with an increase of 5.7 percent year-over-year.

  • Lone Tree: $1,950
  • Littleton: $1,840
  • Thornton: $1,790
  • Broomfield: $1,640
  • Westminster: $1,560
  • Aurora: $1,530
  • Golden: $1,530
  • Arvada: $1,500
  • Englewood: $1,480
  • Denver: $1,320
