DENVER – If you’re new to the area or if you’ve lived here for a long time but don’t know the history behind some of Denver’s most iconic spots, time is running out for you to discover the incredible history the Mile High City has to offer — at least for the 2017 season.
Historic Denver tours for LoDo, Capitol Hill, Larimer Square and the 16th Street Mall will end on October 31, according to an Historic Denver spokeswoman.
“Historic Denver Walking Tours provide just the right mix of history, architecture and fascinating stories to bring Denver’s history and character alive, giving locals and tourists alike, a sense of what it felt like to arrive and live in Denver at the turn of the 20th century,” Director of Community Programs Alison Salutz said.
But the program isn’t possible without the help of volunteers, which is why the organization isn’t resting, and is looking for tour guides for the 2018 season.
The training program begins in January, but if you’re interested in becoming a volunteer and tour guide, you can start filling out the application form now.
Historic Denver tours cover a little more than a mile and last between 85 to 90 minutes.
