DENVER – If you like to read and also get inked, then you may want to head to the Denver Public Library for an appointment this Sunday afternoon.

From 1 to 5 p.m., Certified Tattoo Studios will be offering literary-themed tattoos ranging from $50 to $200 at the Rodolfo “Corky” Gonzales Branch Library, off Colfax Ave. and Irving St.

The tattoo studio is partnering with the Denver Public Library Friends Foundation to raise money for the library. All proceeds will go toward helping the community, a statement on the Denver Public Library’s website reads.

“I was a bookworm and loved the library,” Certified Tattoo Studios owner Nando Mondragon told the Denver Public Library ahead of the event, recalling his days as a kid spent at the Athmar Park Branch Library in southwest Denver.

But life wasn’t all books for Mondragon. Incarcerated at the age of 18, the 35-year-old tattoo artist said it’s now a priority for him to give back to the city and state that he so loves.

The tattoo designs for Sunday’s event are available here.

If you’d like to get a chance to skip the line, Mondragon asks that you tag your friends on this Instagram post.
