After more the 4,200 votes, Denver7 viewers have made it official: Jamming out at a concert at Red Rocks is the Best Thing to Do in Colorado!

A concert at the iconic venue edged out hiking a 14er in the final round of voting this week, and 14 other popular Colorado activities, to take home the trophy this year.

“Not surprised at all,” Red Rocks spokesperson Brian Kitts said of the victory. “I think the good thing about this particular award is it’s voted on by fans, so thank you, fans, and thank you, Denver7!”

Red Rocks’ big win happens to come on the first day of the summer concert season at the venue. The season kicks off with two nights – Friday and Saturday – of music from Porter Robinson, Machinedrum, Wavedash, Qrion and Air to Earth.

Kitts said there are set to be nearly 200 concerts and shows at Red Rocks into November – with something for everyone.
