DENVER – Hunters are expressing their frustrations about not receiving hunting licenses after Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) made the move to online sales for the first time this year for residents and out-of-state visitors.
CPW officials said over the last four years, the full system crashed for people purchasing hunting licenses as well as for locations selling them. This forced them to shut down license sales statewide. This year, however, officials said they did not have a full crash of the system, but instead had problems with online delays and slow processing.
CPW began including online sales this year to help the process go smoother for people who could not take off work or have time to go purchase licenses in person. Before this system was put in place, hunters only had the options to call or go in person to CPW offices or store locations that sell licenses.
Starting at 9 a.m. Thursday, CPW will offer Over The Counter license sales. People can come into CPW offices or store locations to see what tags are left to purchase. Click here to locate agent locations near you.
