1. Get in the fall season spirit at the Denver Botanic Gardens' Pumpkin Festival
What: The Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Farms welcomes you to celebrate the fall season with a treasured October tradition at the Pumpkin Festival! The ticket price includes access to the 10-acre pumpkin patch, a mini maze, barrel train ride and more family and children’s activities. Pumpkin prices vary by size. There will also be food, beer and live entertainment.
Where: Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Farms, 8500 W. Deer Creek Canyon Rd. in Littleton, Colo.
When: Friday and Saturday, Oct. 12 and 13, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (last entry at 4 p.m.). Due to expected inclement weather, all Sunday activities have been canceled.
Admission: $7 for non-member seniors (ages 65 and up), $6 for non-member children ages 3-12 and $9 for non-member adults.

2. Don't let the cold keep you from Urban Farm's Farm Fest in Stapleton
What: It may be cold this weekend, but Farm Fest will be in full swing with their pumpkin patch, live music, great food, a hayride and other activities.

When: Sunday, Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

What: Travel an eerie trail where the darkness has almost all but taken hold, echoes of the roots of Halloween can be heard, and creatures and spirits infamous in stories and lore rise to life in the new Woodland Hollow night walk experience at the Denver Zoo.

What: Love chocolate? Then you’ll go crazy over the decadent pleasures of Choctoberfest, which turns a Saturday in fall into one long, miasmic cacao high! Add the Chocolate Happy Hour, chocolates paired with wine and beer, entertainment, and kids’ activities for an event to remember!

5. Castlewood Canyon State Park Haunted Trail
What: Castlewood Canyon State Park is hosting their annual Haunted Trail! Be a part of the experience as you hear haunted stories, get some awesome fall treats and, of course, hike the spooky trail. You are asked to meet at the Canyon Point parking lot.

6. Creepy Walk in the Woods
What: Mark your calendars and witness this supernatural event taking place just two miles west of Loveland. This event is not recommended for children under 11 years of age.
