1. Take a selfie with an alpaca at the National Alpaca Show
What: Love alpacas? Want to see the best in alpaca fashion and also take a selfie with one? You’re in luck because this weekend, hundreds of alpacas will come to Denver for the 2019 National Alpaca Show. Did we mention that there will be an alpaca selfie booth?

2. Get your Irish on at the Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade
What: Join one of Colorado’s largest St. Patrick’s Day celebrations with Denver’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade! The annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Denver starts at 9:30 a.m. at 19th and Wynkoop. It will then go down on Wynkoop to 17th, south to Blake and then from Blake it will go to 27th. There will be floats, clowns, bag pipe bands, Irish step dancers and more.

3. Partake in the Beautiful Junk Sale at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds
What: Colorado’s largest rummage sale for a cause returns to the Jefferson County Fairgrounds this weekend. Browse through 10,500 square feet of bargain-priced items including jewelry, vintage items, collectibles, household items, holiday décor and more.

4. Bookworms, rejoice! The Colorado Book and Arts Festival is this weekend
What: The Arvada Center and Regis University are partnering with the Tattered Cover Book Store to present the Colorado Book and Arts Festival, a one-day literary arts festival celebrating books, art and music for the whole family. The Arvada Center will be filled with award-winning authors, panel discussions, an onsite pop-up Tattered Cover Book Store, children’s area, artist booths, musical performances and more.

5. Walk among gigantic dinosaurs at Jurassic Quest in Colorado Springs
What: Jurassic Quest, billed as the country’s largest and most realistic Dinosaur event, returns to Colorado Springs after a three-year hiatus. Guests will walk through the Cretaceous period, the Jurassic period and the Triassic period, and will experience for themselves what it was like to be among living, breathing dinosaurs.

6. Step back in time at Frontier Skills Day at Bent’s Old Fort
What: Want to travel to the mid-1800s and experience life as a trader, a hunter, a carpenter, a blacksmith, or be part of the home life, a laborer or a soldier? Then you’ll want to head out to Otero County for the National Park Service’s Frontier Skills Day at Bent’s Old Fort. The instructional program will be a “hands-on” living history experience for adults. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

7. Come for the skiing, stay for the country music at the Rocky Mountain Country Fest
What: Going skiing this weekend? Want to go to a music festival afterward? You’ll need to head to Keystone for the second annual Rocky Mountain Country Fest at Keystone. The evening will be chalk full of red dirt country from Mark Powell, Micky & the Motorcars, and Cody Canada and the Departed. Drink specials on Jim Beam and Coors will be in the mix as well at the Warren Station Bar.
