1. Brush off those cowboy boots for the 114th National Western Stock Show & Rodeo
What: The National Western Stock Show, the nationally recognized western heritage and entertainment event with one of the world's richest regular season professional rodeos, one of the country's largest horse shows and a western trade show, returns for another year to the Mile High City. The kick-off parade takes place Thursday, Jan. 9 at high noon in Downtown Denver.

2. Hear some western couplets at the Colorado Cowboy Poetry Gathering
What: If the National Western Stock Show isn’t enough for you this weekend, head to Golden and join the Colorado Cowboy Gathering for a celebration of cowboy music, poetry and storytelling in the finest, friendliest western tradition. Did I forget to mention there will be campfire cooking?

3. Shasay away and slay those runs at Aspen Gay Ski Week
What: The longest running gay ski week in America returns for the 43rd year to Aspen for 7 nights of parties, concerts, comedy, films, symposiums and dinners. Enjoy “mountain du jour” ski tours and group riding/skiing at Aspen, a downhill costume competition on the Little Nell run, a Miami-themed pink flamingo pool party at the Aspen Recreation Center and more.

4. Colorado Indian Market & Southwest Art Fest – Denver Mart
What: Enjoy three magical days of art, craft, song, dance and culture at the 39th Annual Colorado Indian Market and Southwest Showcase. The market showcases some of the country's most prolific Native American artists. It also features storytelling, dancers, food vendors and more.

5. The Denver Boat Show is coming to Denver this weekend
What: Looking for a boat to use this upcoming summer? The Colorado Convention Center will be hosting the 2020 Denver Boat Show, billed as the premier boat show of the Rockies. Expect to see more boats, more fun, and more entertainment than in previous years for the whole family.

What: Billed as an “epic bonfire event,” the second annual Cabin Fever Festival returns to Pagosa Springs with live music, craft beer, food trucks, an epic bonfire, snow games, and more! Ready to get rid of your Christmas tree? Bring it along for the ride to add it to the fire pile!

7. Love shredding snow? How ‘bout fireworks? Head to Winter Park for both

This weekend, Winter Park Resort is having a Fireworks and Family Fest, which, you guessed it, includes slopeside fireworks, a bone fire at the base for front row views of the whole thing and if you’re hungry, why not calm that sweet tooth with a s’mores bar? Stick around for music with a local DJ.
