1. Get your ice skating on at the Downtown Denver Rink
What: Ice skate, fall, get up and repeat. Bring the whole family, a friend (or seven) or even that special someone for a fun day on the ice.
Where: Skyline Park, 1601 Arapahoe Street (16th St. Mall) in Denver
When: Now through February 3.
Admission: Skate rentals are $8 ($6 for children 12 and under), but if you bring your own sakes, you get in free. Kids age 12 and under can rent skates for free on Sundays.

2. Get lost in the wonder of Zoo Lights at the Denver Zoo
What: The Rocky Mountain region’s largest holiday lighting event is coming back for the 28th year to the Mile High City. Brighter than ever, the Denver Zoo's "Zoo Lights" will showcase more than two million lights spread over 70 acres of land.
Where: Denver Zoo, 2300 Steele St. in Denver
When: November 30, 2018 through January 6, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Admission: $20 for non-members; $15 for members. There are also special discount nights, with $3 off regular ticket admission.

3. Catch a game of Lacrosse as the San Diego Seals face the Colorado Mammoth
What: The San Diego Seals are coming to the Mile High City to face the Colorado Mammoth at Pepsi Center this weekend! Spend your holiday weekend with the Mammoth and have the chance to donate a teddy bear to A Precious Child, a nonprofit which provides children in need with opportunities and resources to empower them to achieve their full potential.

When: Saturday, Dec. 22 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

4. Kids get in for $1 at the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum this weekend
What: More than 50 aircraft – from military to space exhibits – fill the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum, and this weekend kids can get in for only $1. The perfect holiday gift for those aspiring to soar through the skies!
Where: Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum, 7711 E. Academy Blvd. in Denver
When: Saturday, Dec. 22 and Sunday, Dec. 23 from noon to 5 p.m.
Admission: $1 for kids 4-16 years old under Jan. 6; General admission is $15; Seniors and military is $11.50 and $8.50 for youth after Jan. 6.

5. Get in the holiday spirit at the Alamosa Parade of Lights
What: Head to Alamosa for the Inaugural Round-up Rudolph 5K at 3 p.m. and stay for the Christmas Lights Parade that takes place at 6 p.m. You’re encouraged to dress up and run, walk or stroll for lots of Christmas holiday joy!
Where: Alamosa, Colo.
When: Saturday, Dec. 22 starting at 6 p.m.

6. ‘It’s a Wonderful Life' showing at Sunrise Cinema
What: Considered one of the greatest holiday movies ever made, Northern Colorado’s independent and documentary film cinema is showing “It’s Wonderful Life” this weekend! So if you don’t want to make the drive south to Denver, this is the perfect opportunity to experience one of the most popular Christmas movies of all time closure to home.
Where: Sunrise Cinema, 357A Mountain Ave. in Berthoud, Colo.
When: Friday, Dec. 21 at 6:15 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 22 and Sunday, Dec. 23 at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

7. Visit Santa’s Village at Chatfield Farms
What: Come to Chatfield Farms to meet Mrs. Claus, Santa and his reindeer while walking through colorful holiday lights that illuminate the night.
