17th Annual 1840s Rendezvous & Spanish Colonial Art Market

You are invited to the 17th annual 1840s Rendezvous & Spanish Colonial Art Market presented by the Tesoro Cultural Center at the iconic restaurant The Fort. This 2 days’ event commemorate the American mountain men and Hispanic communities of Bent’s Old Fort, an important fur trading fort that operated along the Santa Fe Trail in the early 19th century.

With the goal of keeping Colorado history alive, the event is offering engaging and immersive fun for the whole family. Guests will learn and be put to the test on day to day skills from the 1840s or simply enjoy artists, historical interpreter and musicians. Additional activities include storytelling in The Fort’s tipi; live music and performances by Fiesta Colorado, Rex Rideout and a Fandango; crafts; a Rendezvous Scavenger Hunt for kids; and retablo making.

Award winning artists such as Juan Lopez, Catherine Robles Shaw and Jimmy Trujillo will be in attendance and artwork from various artists will be displayed in different art mediums for purchase. See full list of attending artists here.
