DENVER -- Getting lost can be a lot of fun during the fall season, unless you're my colleague Kurt Sevits. So if you're looking for a place to get lost either by yourself, with your friends, or that special someone for a few hours, you need to head out to one of the many corn mazes the state has to offer before winter arrives.
Oh, and did I forget to mention that some of these include an after-dark corn maze option that may also be haunted?
We've compiled the following list to help choose from mazes across the state, and we've ranked them from the closest to the farthest one, with the starting point being the City of Denver.
1. Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Farms
8500 W. Deer Creek Canyon Rd. in Littleton, Colo.
Wind your way through seven acres of corn at the DBG's Chatfield Farms corn maze. The maze can be viewed from two 15-foot tall illuminated bridges (but where's the fun in that?!). Visitors under the age of 10 can explore the corn mini-maze.
In an effort to reduce waste, printed maps will not be available at the mazes, but you can download a map by clicking on this link. The design this year thanks emergency first responders.
Admission is $14 for adults, $13 for students, seniors and military, and $11 for kids 3-12. It is free for children 2 and under. Learn more about dates and times on the Chatfield Farms website.
Chatfield Farms has an after-dark corn maze where the only thing you'll use to guide your way through the maze is glow sticks! The fun starts at 7 p.m. Admission is the same as the regular corn maze.
2. Maize in the City
10451 McKay Rd. Unit 1 in Thornton, Colo.
Enjoy getting lost in a 20+ acre maze at Maize in the City. Inside the maze there is a smart phone trivia game or a check point game to play. The maze is fun for all ages and is not haunted. An “admission ticket” is good for one entry to the maze.
