The American Red Cross of Colorado is calling out all volunteers to participate in the installation of alarms in indigent homes throughout the Denver Metro. In their three weeks Sound the Alarm and Save a Life campaign, the Red Cross aims to make our communities safe and these installations will help reduce death and injury caused by home fires.
Every day, seven people die in home fires, most in homes that lack working smoke alarms. Sadly, children and the elderly disproportionately lose their lives. That’s why the Red Cross gathered an army of volunteers and launched their Home Fire Campaign in 2014. Since then, The Red Cross has accomplished so much: 348 lives saved 1,135,679 smoke alarms installed 471,738 households made safer 1,019,644 youth reached through campaign.
Every weekend through May 5th, volunteers will go out in communities to install fire alarms. Get involved in this upcoming installation by signing up and help the Red Cross reach their goal.
