Hammond’s Candy Factory Tour

What: Did you know that you can take a free tour of Colorado’s very own Hammond’s Candy Factory?  Tours run every half-hour Monday through Saturday.  Watch candy makers as they hand-pull and twist oversize candy canes, ribbon candy, lollipops and chocolate.  It’s educational fun for candy lovers of all ages.  And bonus, every tour guest gets a free candy sample.

Where: Hammond’s Candies, 5735 N. Washington Street, Denver, Colo.

When:  Mondays Fridays: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; and Saturdays: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. (Closed Sundays)

Northern Colorado Home Improvement Show

What:  Planning to remodel, update or simply need help finishing your honey-do list?  This is your one-stop-shop, your chance to visit with over 100 designers, contractors and retailers ready to introduce new technologies and trends in home improvements, design and landscaping.  Wander through the interactive displays and gardens.  Be inspired and get motivated.  There will be no excuses after attending this show.

UllrGrass Music and Beer Festival

What: A winter bluegrass music and beer festival, because Coloradans love their music and craft beer.  Named for the Norse God of Winter, UllrGrass celebrates wintertime in Colorado by featuring bluegrass music and local craft beer.  Music entertainment will take to the stage in Parfet Park, which will also play host to the beer festival on Saturday and a wine and spirits festival on Sunday.   Dress for the weather and spend a day or spend the weekend.  Either way, you’ll agree that Coloradans know how to have fun in the winter.

Where:  Parfet Park, 10th and Washington Avenue, Golden, Colo.  Friday and Saturday night performances at The Buffalo Rose.

When: Various performance/event times Friday – Sunday.  (Check website for details)   

Admission: Tickets range from $15-$70, depending on event; Kids under 12 years get free entry to Parfet Park performances.

Colorado Eagles vs. Wichita Thunder

What: The Colorado Eagles are back on home ice to face the Wichita Thunder this Friday and Saturday night.  Be a part of the action and cheer on our ECHL hometown hockey team.

Community Skating Party

What: The Evergreen Park and Recreation District and Evergreen Chamber of Commerce invite you to bring your family and friends to spend an evening skating under the stars at the popular Evergreen Lake. There will be free skate rentals too, but supplies are limited so bring your own if you have them.  And be sure to stop by the Chamber table to get a coupon for free hot chocolate.  Snacks will be available for purchase.

Sesame Street: K is for Kindness Pop-Up Tour

What: This event is a little kiddo’s dream come true. Their favorite friends from Sesame Street are making a quick stop in Denver this weekend with their pop-up tour, featuring hands-on learning activities, a library corner and an interactive live stage show with the beloved Elmo and Abby Cadabby.  Character meet and greets and other special surprises await you.  

Where:  FlatIron Crossing, Dillard’s Court, 1 W. Flatiron Crossing Drive, Broomfield, Colo.

Bonus Things To Do: On Saturday, all carnival rides at Mile High Flea Market are free from 12-2 p.m. Admission to the flea market is just $3 for adults, kids 12 and under are free; and you don’t forget the Ruby Hill Rail Yard is open daily through February, or until the snow melts.
