Brandon Richard

Reporter

Brandon Richard joined the Denver7 team in September 2022 as a reporter.

Prior to arriving in Denver, Brandon spent four years in Memphis as an anchor and reporter at the NBC affiliate. He spent much of his time in Memphis reporting on local and state politics. His political reporting also garnered national coverage.

Originally from Oklahoma, Brandon discovered his love for journalism in the third grade while watching news coverage of the Oklahoma City bombing. It was during those dark days for his beloved home state when Brandon first realized the important role journalists play in their communities.

Brandon got his start in journalism working at a small-town newspaper, where he served in multiple roles, including office manager, reporter, and photographer.

For the past 15 years, Brandon has built a career in television news. His journey has taken him to newsrooms across the country, including Louisiana, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, and Tennessee.

Brandon’s work has been honored many times through the years. In 2018, he was named “Best TV Reporter” by the Illinois Broadcasters Association.

Brandon is a proud graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma, where he served as president of the student broadcast association and as an anchor, reporter, and producer on the school’s nightly news broadcast.

In his free time, Brandon enjoys reading, writing, and cycling (or at least trying to).
