The Biden administration freed up $8.2 billion in disaster relief funds for Puerto Rico.

It also lifted restrictions on how that money can be spent.

The money was initially allocated after Hurricane Maria in September 2017.

Congress signed off on more than $60 billion in aid for Puerto Rico after the hurricane devastated the region.
